In the early hours of November 25, 2025, the Hamtramck Police Department responded to a stabbing in progress. Officers determined that a female and a male, who had been sleeping, were stabbed in the head by a male suspect known to the female. The investigation revealed that the suspect forcibly entered the residence, stabbed both victims, and then fled the scene. The victims were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
On November 27, 2025 (Thanksgiving), the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office approved an arrest warrant for the suspect. With assistance from multiple agencies, the suspect was tracked down, located, and taken into custody without incident on December 4, 2025.
Demetree Jordan was arraigned in Hamtramck’s 31st District Court on two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, two counts of Felonious Assault, Home Invasion, and Domestic Violence. Bond was set at $500,000 cash.
